Hey friends, and welcome to the final escape room marketing blog of June!
Before I get started, I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are healthy.
Last week I shared 5 additions you NEED to make to your website to increase your bookings from it.
One of those additions was the Facebook Pixel, which I covered in brief. But the Facebook Pixel is actually a huge marketing opportunity that many escape rooms miss out on, either because they don’t understand how it works (or how they can use it), or they just don’t see the value.
So over the next 3 weeks I’m going to be taking a deep dive into the Facebook Pixel, starting today with the how it works and the BENEFITS it can bring your escape room – because boy, there are many!
If you don’t fully understand the benefits that the Facebook Pixel can bring your escape room, you’re not ever going to invest much (if any) time into setting it up and using it as part of your wider marketing.
So this is a blog not-to-miss!
Next week, after you’ve realised how awesome the Facebook Pixel is, I’ll show you how to install and get the Facebook Pixel working. Then the week after, the exact strategies you can use to get all of those awesome benefits I’m about to share with you today.
Without further ado, let’s make a start!
What is the Facebook Pixel?
Before I share with you the awesome benefits of the Facebook Pixel, let’s talk about what precisely it is.
In essence, it’s a piece of unique code which is linked to your Facebook Ads account and that you add to your website.
This enables the tracking of traffic from Facebook to your website, and visa versa. This creates huge opportunity for your marketing and huge benefits – specifically allowing you to maximise your bookings (earnings), whilst minimising your marketing costs – leading to a higher profit and return on investment.
So yes, the Facebook Pixel is critical and not to be ignored or unused.
Let’s dive into the benefits now:
Benefit 1: Re-marketing
On average, 97% of visitors to your website will leave without booking – and many will never come back.
But using the Facebook Pixel, you can re-market specifically to these people – running Facebook ads and other promotions designed to get them to come back to your website and maybe even making a booking.
Benefit 2: Abandon carts
Re-marketing can go one step further and target abandon carts – those who go to make a booking by visiting the order page or getting very close to making a booking, but then change their mind and “abandon” the process.
These are people who are really interested, and were so close to booking with you – it’s a huge lost opportunity when they abandon. But using the Facebook Pixel, you can target them and run ads designed to get them to come back and finish their booking!
Re-marketing and abandon carts are marketing that businesses would have been used on you before. Have you ever looked at certain items on an online store, but close the website without ordering – and then later you see ads from that store and that specific item?
Or how about seeing ads for items you’ve put in the online stores basket, but haven’t yet pushed the order button.
Those who are unaware of the Facebook Pixel and marketing in general just consider this a coincidence, voodoo or just some kind of internet stalking. When actually it’s just the pixel!
Benefit 3: Building audiences to market to
A key factor that determines the success (or failure) of an escape rooms marketing is their targeting. No matter how good their advertising is, no matter how attractive their offer is, if it’s shown to the wrong people – they won’t book.
Besides those who already visit your website, who else would make great targets for your marketing?
Those with similar demographics and interests as those visitors. And because you’re tracking your website visitors using the Facebook Pixel – you can create a ‘lookalike’ audience of all the people who have a lot in common with your visitors.
Benefit 4: Track bookings to specific marketing activities
The final big benefit to the Facebook Pixel is being able to track and record where bookings came from. Sure, most bookings will come from your website – but what specific marketing activity lead them to your website in the first place?
Measuring specific data like this is critical to marketing success. One advert may get lots of clicks to your website, but no bookings. Another advert may get less clicks, but lots of bookings.
Tracking your bookings with the Facebook Pixel enables you to identify what Facebook specific marketing gets you bookings, and which doesn’t. A game-changer!

BOOST YOUR WEBSITE BOOKINGS:
People are significantly more likely to book one of your rooms if they are engaged with you and your content. The BEST way by far to engage visitors to your website, is to get them to play a little free game, puzzle or brain teaser.
There’s two different ways of doing this.
The most proven method is the Game Popup from VirallyBot which has been proven to increase bookings by 15%+. The Game Popup is an interactive experience where players have “get out of the house”.
And best yet, it’s easy to install (literally takes seconds) and is available for free for 30 days.

Similar to putting mini-games on your website to engage with people, you can do the same with static puzzles or brain teasers. Simple images that offer some kind of challenge is a fantastic way of engaging with visitors, getting them to stick around longer and making them more likely to book.
There are many websites that can inspire you to make your own puzzles or brain teasers, or you can sign up to receive weekly branded puzzles straight into your inbox for FREE by clicking here.
